Wild Rift Yuumi Guide: Best Build, Runes and Gameplay Tips

You and Me, we got this!

League of Legends: Wild Rift has come up with something special to celebrate Valentine´s Day in this year. The Valentine event is themed around the newest addition to the champion roaster. The fluffy, new companion of every ADC main is called Yuumi, the Magical Cat. A heal for either herself or an ally, a slowing skillshot ability, and an ultimate with constant damage and a root, Yuumi is notoriously known as the easiest champion to use, since the ally it is attached to moves and takes damage for the player. In this guide, we will take a closer look at the best runes, spells, and builds, including tips and tricks to punch your way to victory with Yuumi in League of Legends: Wild Rift.

Yuumi, a support champion played in the Dragon Lane, had been revealed in the Wild Rift Season 2022 announcement. Yuumi attaches itself to an ally as Enchanter support, and thus cannot be targeted anymore. The curious cat has all the supplies other enchanters have.

We also have previously discussed how to master playing with LoL Wild Rift champions like Ammu, Master Yi, Jinx, Braum, Dr. Mundo, Akali, Yasuo, Singed, Jax, Darius, Ashe, Lulu, Varus, Tristana, Kennen, Miss Fortune, Blitzcrank, Teemo, Xayah, Rakan, Corki, Shyvana, Janna, Katarina, Leona, Pantheon, Diana, Galio, Fiora, Rammus, Sona, Kai’Sa, Rengar, Kha’Zix, Nasus, Renekton, Irelia, Riven, Nami, Soraka, Graves, Senna, Lucian, Akshan, Thresh, Seraphine, Vayne, Ezreal, Ahri, Draven, Brand, Nunu and Willump, Lux, Veigar, Caitlyn, Morgana, Kayle, and Sett. So, players must make sure to check these champion guides as well. For now, let’s focus on this guide of Yuumi in Wild Rift.

Skill Analysis

The difference between a good Yuumi user and a bad one is the usage of her passive. Yuumi is one of the most team-dependent support in the whole champion pool. This makes her risky playing in the solo queue. Because of that and the fact, Yuumi cannot be blind picked thus is not very suitable in every team composition, which places her overall in the B-tier of the support list.

Yuumi is a champion with the common five skill sets of one passive and four actives. Yuumi starts the game with having her second ability “ You And Me!” already unlocked. In this Yuumi guide, we are going to see how her abilities in LoL Wild Rift work and when you should use which skill to be in the best shape in the current ranked season.

Passive – Bop ´N´ Block

Yuumi´s attacks against champions grant her 82 shields (+ 30% AP) and restore 78 mana ( 25 + 12% max mana). This effect has a 12-second cooldown. This shield follows Yuumi until broken and will protect Yuumi´s attached ally, while she has one.

Skill 1 – Prowling Projectile

Hold and drag: The skill steers an errant missile, dealing 40 magic damage (+30% AP) to the first enemy hit. If Yuumi is attached, the missile will be enhanced, if it travels for 1 second before impacting, dealing 60 (+40% AP) plus 2% current health magic damage instead and slows champions by 20% for 1 second. The skill deals up to 110 damage against monsters.

Skill 2 – You And Me!

Passive: The skill increases the attached ally´s Adaptive Force by 15+12% ( 7.5+12% ally´s bonus AD or 15+12% ally´s AP). Yuumi also gains the same amount of Adaptive Force.

Active: The skill lets a champion dash to an ally champion and attaches to them. While Yuumi is attached, she follows her partner´s movement and is untargetable, except towers. The skill immobilizes effects on Yuumi’s place ‘You and Me!’ on a 5-second cooldown.

Skill 3 – Zoomies

Yuumi restores 80 Health (+40% AP) to herself and gains 15% Movement Speed (+ 0.1% AP) and 30% Attack Speed for 3 seconds. If Yuumi is Attached, this Ability affects her ally instead.

Skill 4 – Final Chapter

The skill channels for 3.5 seconds, launching 7 waves dealing 60 magic damage (+ 20% AP). The waves after the first deal 50% magic damage. Champions hit by 3 waves are rooted for 1.75 seconds. Yuumi can move and cast You and Me! and Zoomies while channeling.

Skill Up Methods for Yuumi

Players must skill up the Ultimate, whenever it is available. Regarding the other skills, players must upgrade the 3rd skill, then the 1st  skill, and lastly the 2nd skill.

Best Runes Setup and Spells for Yuumi in Wild Rift

Runes Setup

  • Aery: This will be Yuumi´s core rune, as it gives a shield every time players heal the ally or gives extra damage to enemies, which Yuumi herself lacks. With her passive, players could also get an even stronger shield, when proccing Aery.
  • Gathering Storm: Yuumi is a scaling enchantress and this rune makes the scaling even stronger. Depending on the enemy composition, one could exchange this rune with a more early-game-focused rune such as Brutal.

  • Loyalty: Even though this rune is in the early game, it focuses on still synergizing with Yuumi´s playstyle a lot. One can technically want to be attached to an ally to boost their power, therefore, taking Loyalty will make the attached ally have more defensive stats. Depending on your playstyle and the enemy composition, one could switch out this rune with another one such as Second Wind.
  • Manaflow Band: Like all enchanters, Yuumi uses her mana a lot to spam its abilities. Therefore, taking Manaflow Band will not only help with the mana management in the early game but also makes the late game even stronger which Yuumi benefits off.

Battle Spells

Heal/Ignite or Exhaust

Players are probably wondering why Flash is not mentioned here. Yuumi is one of the champions, where taking Flash is never recommended. Therefore, players will not do any flashy plays or be alone in a bad situation ever the necessity of flash fades away.

This leaves us with the three other optioned mentioned above. Taking Heal is always useful with Yuumi since it can synergize with your healing buffing items. One can also take Ignite for a lane where they can/want to play aggressively. It is also very effective against enemy champions, which heals a lot.

Exhaust is recommended, when they have to play safely in the laning phase, such as facing all-in comps. It is also powerful against assassins, who are out for blood for your ADC.

League of Legends: Wild Rift Yuumi Gameplay Tips

We already established that Yuumi is a Support best suited, being played in the Dragon Lane. Players must always remember that the Wild Rift’s Map is a mirror. Therefore, one must make sure that they understand the map side before starting to lane. According to her gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Our Wild Rift Yuumi guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late game.

Early Game

Yuumi´s early game is her weakest phase in the game and heavily depends on the way the ADC wants to play the lane and how your opponent’s champion picks are. If the ADC picked a strong early game champion and the enemy´s support is also an enchanter, one can play aggressively. But, if they face a tank and/or a catcher such as Leona or Blitzcrank, they have to play slow and safe, since one mistake can cost the laning phase. Players can wait for the Jungler or Mid laner to gank if the enemy overextends and pressures the player and their ADC under the tower.

Normally, with a scaling ADC like Kai´Sa, players want to farm passively. With an early game focused on ADC like Draven, one can play more aggressively and support them by keeping their health bar always up.

Mid Game

Yuumi is not traditional roaming support, since she is very squishy and only works with an ally to enhance upon. Players must remember that roaming is not advised and only allowed if their ADC is safe and if the jungler takes it with them. In general, Yuumi´s gameplay is usually very passive.

Late Game

After a successful mid-game, Yuumi can do a lot of options, but usually, one would want to attach to the strongest ally to boost them up, so they can be a threat to every enemy. If the attached ally is not doing anything, which contributes to the team in which Yuumi should re-attach to the jungler or someone else.

Yuumi is the strongest with her whole team together, therefore, players can keep an eye on the mini-map. At the late game, after buying the necessary items, Yuumi is able to spam her abilities more often and stronger. Players might want to try specific skill combos like this to unleash their full potential.

Basic + Skill 2 + Skill 1 + Ultimate + Skill 3

Yuumi could technically be played with a lot of ADC but she truly forms the strongest pairs and serves as Best Combos with Ezreal, Tristana, and Vayne.

Final Thoughts

Yuumi is a support with a unique playstyle. She is attached to one of the allies and makes herself untargetable from enemy attacks. This sounds exciting, but players must be aware that now the focus from the enemies is targeted at the attached allies. This makes them more vulnerable to crowd controls.

Yuumi will always be useful in every game phase and very strong in teamfights, jumping from one ally to another and keeping them healthy and alive. Nevertheless, she is very dependent on the team composition and can be countered by having Ignite or buying anti-heal items. Therefore, picking Yuumi should always be well thought out!
