Valentina has a set of 4 skills: one passive and three active skills. Let’s check out her skills to get a better view of her abilities and the order in which we should prioritize her skills. In this Mobile Legends guide, we will also talk about the skills to use in certain scenarios as well as skill combos to be able to play Valentina to her utmost potential.
Passive – Primal Force (Buff/Heal)
Valentina gains 30 EXP each time she deals damage to an enemy hero. Cooldown: 2s. If the enemy hero’s level isn’t higher than Valentina’s, 60% of the damage dealt will be converted into her HP.
Skill 1 – Shadow Strike (Damage/CC)
- Level Scaling
- Cooldown: 7.0/6.6/6.2/5.8/5.4/5.0
- Mana Cost: 70/75/80/85/90/95
- Base Damage: 350/410/470/530/590/650
Valentina launches a Shadow Strike on a fan-shaped area ahead, dealing 350/410/470/530/590/650 (+170% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage to enemies hit and slowing them by 40% for 1s. Also applies a Shadow Sigil that lasts 4s to enemy heroes hit. Marked enemies that are hit by Shadow Strike again will be terrified for 0.7s.
Skill 2 – Arcane Shade (Blink/Buff)
- Level Scaling
- Cooldown: 10.0
- Mana Cost: 70/75/80/85/90/ 95
- Base Damage: 125/145/165/185/205/225
Valentina fires 3 Shadow Bolts to the nearest enemy (prioritizes enemy hero) and dashes forward, each Shadow Bolts 125/145/165/185/205/225 (30% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage. Valentina can cast this skill again within 6s (costs Mana). Each time a Shadow Bolts hits an enemy hero, the cooldown of Shadow Strike is reduced by 1s.
Ultimate – I Am You (Morph/Slowed)
- Level Scaling
- Cooldown: 45.0
- Stolen Skill’s Level: 1/2/3
Valentina siphons the power of a designated enemy hero and slows them by 70% for 0.5s. The siphoned power allows Valentina to cast the enemy’s Ultimate within the next 20s. After casting the enemy’s Ultimate, Valentina will turn into the enemy hero’s form and inherit their Basic Attack type (regular skills remain unchanged unless the enemy’s Ultimate has Morph effect). Valentina can turn back to her original form early.
This skill has no effect on enemy Valentina. The stolen Ultimate’s level is determined by Valentina’s own Ultimate. If the enemy hero is a Physical Damage hero, Valentina will gain (+100% Total Magic Power) extra Physical Attack within the duration.
Skill-up method for Valentina
Unlock Shadow Strike (First Skill) followed by Arcane Shade (Second Skill). Unlock I Am You (Ultimate) at level 4. Prioritize upgrading the First Skill to max first as this reduces the cooldown of the skill followed by the Second Skill. Upgrade her Ultimate when available. First Skill > > Second Skill>Ultimate.
Best Emblem Set and Spells for Valentina in Mobile Legends
Mage Emblem Setup
Use custom mage emblem on Valentina. Also, use talent points on Agility in Tier 1 which increases movement speed by 2/4/6% and on Observation in Tier 2 which increases magic penetration by 2/4/6.
Use Magic Worship in Tier 3 which on dealing damage greater than 7% of the targets max HP 3 times in 5 seconds, burns them 3 times for 82-250 Magic Damage. This has a cooldown of 12 seconds. It’s easier to trigger Magic Worship using Valentina’s skills.
Flameshot: Flameshot fires a flame shot in a designated direction dealing 160(+60% Total Magic Power)-640(+180% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage and slowing the target by 30% for 0.5 seconds. This versatile spell comes in very handy. It scales on distance so it can be used to finish fleeing enemies if aimed correctly. Moreover, this spell can knock back enemies or cancel their skills like canceling the Flicker+Ultimate combo of Tigreal.
Best Builds for Valentina in Mobile Legends
You can try many builds on Valentina. All you have to do is just follow the enemy’s pick and then decide the role on the battlefield. We have set out the following template to try out with Valentina on the battlefield.
- Start off the match by buying Magic Shoes for the 10% cooldown reduction in abilities. Players can also buy Arcane boots to increase the magic penetration by +10.
- Next Players need to buy the core items of the build. Cloak of Destiny can be bought after the boots. It adds 25 HP and 4 magic power every 20 seconds for upto 12 times. Reaching max time, the hero receives extra 5% magic power and 300 mana. A fully stacked Clock of Destiny grants 115.5 Magic Power, 900 Mana, and 915 HP by itself.
- This should be followed by buying the Lightning Truncheon which echoes the next skill after every 6 seconds dealing 20-1000 Magic Damage upto 3 Times. This scales with the hero’s max mana. Lightning Truncheon‘s Resonate damage scale with the Max Mana and Clock of Destiny‘s extra Magic Power are enhance with Holy Crystal‘s Mystery giving a plenty amount of Magic Power in the process.
- Players can build the Holy Crystal after Lighting truncheon which increases Magic Power by 21-35% scaling with level.
- Divine Glaive should be bought right after. This will almost during the end game of the match when opponents will have some sort magic defence in their build. Divine Glaive has a unique passive Spellbreaker which for every point of enemy’s Magic defense increases magi penetration by 0.1% when dealing damage capped at 20%.
- For the final item players can make either Winter Truncheon or Immortality based on whichever’s passive is available. Players can make Winter truncheon earlier in their build if the opponents have an annoying Hayabusa or Aldous marking them.
Mobile Legends Valentina Gameplay Tips
Valentina’s skill combo depends on what ultimate players have. Alternate between Skill 1 and Skill 2 for maximum damage output. For example, if the player has stolen the Ultimate of opponent Cecilion they should use their Ultimate early in a fight and then alternate between Skill 1 and Skill 2. On the other hand, if have stolen the Ultimate of Lesley they should use the Ultimate at the end of the fight to snipe off escaping enemies. Our Mobile Legends Valentina guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late phases of the game. However, a player must need a good understanding of the map to bring the best out of any hero.
At level 1, unlock Skill 1 and go to mid-lane or other off lanes according to your team comp. While laning try to use every chance to deal damage to enemies which will trigger the passive of Valentina Primal Force. This will make her level up faster. Players can steal the ultimate of opponents even if they themselves have not unlocked it yet.
Have an eye on the map and help your teammates to secure objectives like killing the turtle, stealing enemy buff or creeps, taking down enemy turrets, or ganking out of position enemies.
In the end game like any other mage players should not solo with Valentina. Try to stay with the tank and rotate between lanes. Do not wander around if players don’t have a vision yet. Camp in bushes and engage after teammates have initiated a fight.
Try keeping an eye out for assassins or fighters trying to focus Valentina first. Remember that opponents will target and focus to kill off Valentina first so stay safe while alternating between Skill 1 and Skill 2. Always try to steal the opponent’s best ultimate even if not used immediately.
Heroes that can counter Valentina
On the other hand, Valentina can pretty much counter any hero because of her unique Ultimate that lets her copy the Ultimate of her opponents. In the hands of an experienced player who knows how to counter every hero in the game, she will be the deadliest.
Valentina is dominating the Land of dawn ever since her release. The Ultimate has the ability to counter any hero in the game and in the hands of an experienced player, it is the deadliest almost to the point of being broken. However, Players from Epic rank and above thinking to play her ranked should give up their hopes as she is being already banned almost every match. If by any chance, she is not banned, picking her should be a priority. In any case that opponents have got Valentina already try to pick her counters mentioned in this Mobile Legends guide in your team comp. Valentina should be the priority target first in a teamfight.
