Woohoo! Set me on fire and I'll play through the battle!

X.Borg is a very strong fighter with his slow burn and burst damage, which can be used in both the early and late game stages in Mobile Legends. As a good offlaner, X.Borg is well-known in the community. In the current meta, he is also very good as a Jungler. Due to his jungle clearing ability and late-game sustainability, many professional players are playing him in big Tournaments. He got some massive damage skills with a low CD. As per the say Set me on fire, therefore, players don’t forget to activate the Heat Mark on the enemy. In this meta, X.Borg is a very useful hero to rank up very quickly even, if while playing solo. In this guide, we will be seeing these hero skills, items, and the emblem setup as well as some tips and tricks on how to play X.Borg in Mobile Legends.

Skill Analysis

X.Borg is a hero that has four abilities which are one passive and three actives. In this X.Borg guide, let’s see what are his abilities in Mobile Legends, and when you can use which skill to get the best out of him.

Passive – Firaga Armor (Buff)

X.Borg’s Firaga Armor inherits and takes all damage for X.Borg when it is active. When the Armor is destroyed, X.Borg will disengage from the Armor and roll in the direction of the Joystick (he is immune to damage and control effects but suppressed, in the process). The Armor’s energy is gradually regenerated, while X.Borg is in the Armorless State. At full energy, X.Borg re-equips the Armor and restores it to 30% of his Armor HP. X.Borg’s fire damage causes enemies to heat up [up to 6 times]. Enemies at maximum temperature will drop Firaga supplies when they take fire damage from X.Borg. Picking up a Firaga supply restores 10% of Armor HP, or 10 energy while in Armorless State.

Skill 1 – Fire Missiles (AoE)

X.Borg sprays fire in the target direction dealing an increasing 60% Total Physical Attack, and an increasing 40% Total Magic Power about 7 times over 2 seconds to enemies in range, where only 75%–100% damage against minions. Enemies at maximum temperature are dealt True Damage instead.
Armorless: The attack area becomes narrower but longer, while the damage is reduced to 60% of that in an Armored state.

Skill 2 – Fire Skate (CC)

X.Borg plants 5 Fire Stakes at the edge of the fan-shaped indicator and retrieves them after 1.7 seconds, each dealing an increasing 20% Total Physical Attack and pulling the enemies in the path towards him. Firaga Supplies in the path will also be retrieved if touched by Fire Stakes.
Armorless STate: X.Borg adjusts the Fire Stake Launcher to increase its range and shorten the distance between Fire Stakes.

X.Borg charges forward in the target direction while rotating and spraying fire, dealing 200–250 (+130% Extra Physical Attack) (+90% Total Magic Power) Physical Damage 7 times and slowing enemies by 25%. He stops upon running into an enemy hero and will slow them by an additional 40%. After 3 seconds from the start of the skill, X.Borg’s Firaga Armor will detonate, dealing 300–700 (+target’s 15% Total HP) True Damage to nearby enemies.

If the armour is destroyed before it can self-detonate, it will only deal 50% of the damage. When his Armor detonates, X.Borg will dash a short distance in the Joystick’s direction and enter an Armorless State while removing all debuffs from himself. This skill cannot be used in the Armorless State.

Use Again: X.Borg stops spraying fire and immediately detonates his Firaga Armor.

Skill Up Method for X.Borg

Max out skill 1 first followed by skill 2 and ultimate whenever available. The first skill is his main damage source.

Best Emblem Set and Spells for X.Borg in Mobile Legends

Emblem Set

To effectively play X.Borg in the Exp lane and as a Jungler, players are expected to use the Custom Fighter Emblem alongside whichever Talent best suits such player’s gameplay. However, developers have brought up some of the best Emblem/Talent Set-up that is advisable to be used for X.Borg.

Xborg Emblem Setup
Xborg Emblem Setup

The Custom Fighter Emblem ever since its Revamp, provides players with access to 3 different talents. Hence, for the X.Borg Emblem Set-up, the following setup is expected of players:

  • In the First Talent, we choose Agility as it provides extra movement Speed mostly useful for Early game Farming and domination.
  • In the Second Tier Talent, players can pick Festival of Blood for an extra spell vamp. X.Brog’s first skill greatly benefits from spell vamp as it allows them to regen health while dealing skill-based damage. He can poke enemies and get his health back, it is also useful for staying longer in a fight. This gives an early advantage if X.Borg is able to get a few kills. This is the most popular and most effective talent from Fighter Emblem.
  • In the Third Tier Talent, players can pick Brave Smite, as it restores 5% max HP after dealing damage to enemies with his skill. This talent will also help when is health is very low. X.Borg’s most damage comes from his skills. So it will be easier for him to make the best use of this talent.

Spells

In our opinion, Flicker is the most useful spell while you queuing as a solo. By using Flicker, X.Borg can escape from any tricky CC situation. At first, the Firaga armours burst and if you use Flicker after that, then players can dash a long way from the enemy. The players can use Sprint or Arrival, playing as a 5-man lobby team and get two laning heroes, to help them to defend the turret or ganking.

While playing him as a Jungler you must pick Retribution. In this current meta, he is a very good jungler to counter tanky heroes with his true damage.

Best Builds for X.Borg in Mobile Legends

X.Brog’s most damage comes form his passive and other skills. He is not a basic attacker. It would be better to build him with physical damage, health regen/ life-steal items and some physical or magical defence items, based on the enemy lineup. Developers have set out the following template in our guide to try out with X.Borg on the Mobile Legends battlefield.

Players should start building the Warrior boots while laning, but if the enemy laner deals magic damage build Tough boots. For the second item, they can get War exe. War exe gave enough early-game damage and sustain. If players need more survivability in team fights, it will help them to stay a loner in the fight because of its passive with stacks. For the third item, the Ice Queen Wand has a very item for X.Borg popular form for a very long time, although it’s a magic item, it helps him to slow down the enemies and deal more damage with his first skill.

After getting two items, it is better to get a defence item. For X.Borg, Immortality is a very good option. It gives even more chance for X.Borg to survive after losing his armour getting killed with Immortality will give his armor back one more time. To increase damage, more Bloodlust exe is a good item. It deals more damage with it’s passive. Brute Force Breastplate will allow X.Borg to deal damage while chasing down the enemies as it increases movement speed after using skills. To increase his sustainability even more, Oracle is a good item, it gives lots of HP. If the enemy has more magic damage heroes build the Athena Shield and if the enemy has more physical damage dealers, Antique Cuirass will be a very good item.

Mobile Legends X.Borg Gameplay Tips

X.Borg is very good as the offlaner hero, we personally suggest that play as Borg in the EXP lane. It will help you to farm faster while defending the turret. This hero completely relies on his S1 and players’ common sense. But, he can be played as a Jungler in the current season (S29). Developers can break it down into three phases. Our X.Borg guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, middle, and late game in Mobile Legends.

Early Game

X.Borg Early Game
X.Borg Early Game

While playing him as the Jungler, start off taking the Purple or Orange buff depending on the Lithowanderer’s spawn position. Clear the buff near Lithowanderer’s spawn area. Killing the Litho will help you to get the level 4 faster and rotate earlier than the enemy jungler. Don’t hesitate to charge enemies in the early game, his armour will save him. Enemies have to put some extra effort on him after taking down his armour. Players should try to get level 4 as soon as possible by clearing the jungle creeps and taking the enemy to the jungle, also if there is any chance, it will help to stay ahead of the farm.

Mid Game

In the mid-game phase try to push turrets, don’t indulge yourself in unnecessary fights. Players should farm whenever they get a chance, remember X.Borg is fully dependent upon his HP, so, in this order, they can buy their core items too. Players should use this skill combos’ to execute the enemy in this stage. Rotate with your team and look for some easy kills then take down important objectives.

S1+Basic attack+S2+S1+S3

Late Game

X.Borg is very strong in the late game. Due to his first skill and true damage passive, he can burn enemies HP slowly. It’s hard to chase X.Borg without blink-skill heroes. Developers should wait for the tank to set up a good ultimate with multiple enemies CC’ed together. It’s the best time to use the first skill to heat them up and finish them off with true damage Ultimate.

Late Game with X.Borg

Always try to heat the enemy with your skill 1 or Ultimate, it will slow them and force them to take true damage. Players should use a second skill to prevent enemies from escaping, but if the enemy does that with their blink power, just use their flicker during ultimate and finish them. One should try to cast the skill sets in the late stage, they cannot fight back after immortality, so use the ultimate as an escape tool. He is very weak against high-magic damage heroes.

Final Thoughts

X.Borg is a very strong fighter hero in Mobile Legends. He is a good early-game fighter with his high damage output and mobility. He can also be played as a split pusher in the late game. His passive ability, allows him to deal more damage and move faster as his heat bar increases. His first skill is a short-range burn that deals damage and applies a slow effect. His second skill is a CC skill which pulls back enemies. His ultimate skill is one of the best skills to finish off the low HP enemies. It also gives him movement speed and survivability.

X.Borg is a relatively easy hero to use, but he can be very powerful in the right hands. He is a good choice for players who want to play a mobile and aggressive fighter hero. An excellent pick for rank games is also definitely a good pick for the current meta. These tips will surely help you to guide easy wins with X.Borg in Mobile Legends.
