Mobile Legends Freya Guide: Best Build, Emblems and Gameplay Tips

Its time to protect the Northern Vale till the last breath

Freya, the Valkyrie from Northern Vale folks, is a fighter in Mobile Legends. She is an extremely strong and tanky fighter. Freya is obtained when players do the first diamond recharge in the game, so she is kind of exclusive in the game. She recently gained popularity when the developers revamped her, making her one of the strongest heroes in the game. She has huge damage dealing with physical attacks with skills enhancing her attack and giving her shield. Freya has buff, burst, shield, AoE (what is she not having?). She was the Valkyrie SHE Devil which cannot be killed. The developers soon balanced her stats but even after that, she is good to play at the Mythic level. Here’s our guide to help you in getting the best out of Freya in Mobile Legends.

Skill Analysis

Freya possesses 4 skills, including her passive. In this Freya guide, let’s see what are her abilities in Mobile Legends, and when you can use which skill to get the best out of her.

Passive – Power Of Einherjar (Buff)

After casting a skill, Freya greatly increases her Attack Speed for the next 2 Basic Attacks Basic Attacks. This effect has 6 stacks at most.
Freya gains a stack of Sacred Orb for every 2 Basic Attack

Freya jumps to a designated area, dealing 200–300 (+80% Extra Physical Attack) Physical Damage to enemies in the area and pulling them to the centre.
Sacred Orb Enhancement: Consumes 1 stack of Sacred Orb, increasing the damage to 150%, extending the area of effect and stunning the targets for 0.5 seconds.

Freya dashes forward and gains a shield that can absorb 160–260 (+70% Extra Physical Attack) damage while dealing 130–230 (+90% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage to the enemies and slowing them by 30% for 0.5 seconds.
Sacred Orb [Enhancement]: The skill can be recast in 4 seconds at the cost of 1 Sacred Orb up to 4 times.
Freya will swing the hammer on the 4th cast, increasing the damage to 156–276 (+108% Total Physical Attack) and knocking the enemies airborne for 0.5 seconds.

Ultimate Skill – Valkyrie Descent (Morph, Shield)

Freya gains 3 stack(s) of Sacred Orb and enters Valkyrie State. The skill gains a shield that can absorb 600–900 (+180% Total Physical Attack) damage and increase 30-70 Physical Attack. Her Basic attack also becomes ranged and can deal Splash Damage. Valkyrie State lasts for 10 seconds.

Skill-up method for Freya

Unlock her second skill first and then her first skill. The second skill is her primary damage source. Try to maximize the second skill first and Upgrade the Ultimate whenever possible.

Best Emblem Set and Spells for Freya in Mobile Legends

Emblem Setup

To make Freya’s gameplay more effective in the Exp lane, players are expected to use the Custom Assassin Emblem for Extra penetration and high damage. Players can use whichever Talent suits them best for their gameplay.

The Custom Assassin Emblem ever since its Revamp, provides players with access to 3 different talents. Hence, for the Freya Emblem setup, the following setup is expected of players :

  • In the First-tier Talent, we choose Agility as it provides extra movement speed, primarily valuable for Early game rotation to other lanes after a cut lane. Penetration from the common emblem is very useful for Freya as it gives a lot of damage along with Freya’s shield ability and helps Freya to fight in a 2 vs. 1 situation.
  • In the Second tier Talent, players should pick Master Assassin. This talent will increase by 5% damage when there is no enemy hero nearby. This talent will increase the potential of Freya in solo laning.
  • In the Third Tier Talent, players can pick the killing spree as it restores 10% max HP and increases movement speed after killing enemies. This talent will also help Freya to survive when her health is very low.

Battle Spells

Several spells are suitable for Freya and are equally good for use. Some suggestions are to use Sprint to chase the enemy. Purify enables Freya to use her Ultimate at critical times. Flicker is also a good choice for Freya to catch the enemies, but Inspire is the best spell for Freya, combined with her ultimate. By using Inspire, Freya can deal a massive amount of damage. Use the best spell, depending on your playstyle.

Best Builds for Freya in Mobile Legends

Freya is a balanced hero with skill damage and shield. She is also a basic attacker. It would be better to build physical attack and critical damage items for insane damage combined with her passive. In this guide, we will breakdown the builds for Freya in Mobile Legends.

Players can start building the Warrior boots while laning, but if the enemy laner deals magic damage, build Tough boots. For the second item, you can get Blade of Despair, which gives tons of damage and increases by 5 % movement speed. For the third item, choose Berserker Fury. It is a good option as it allows Freya to deal heavy critical damage; the enemy might have some healing or life-steal heroes. Sea halberd will be a good item to cut healing or life-steal effects. For the fourth item, you can go for Endless Battle, as it will increase her damage and movement speed and allow her to get lifesteal and deal a lot of true damage. Then, if the enemy has more magic damage heroes like burst damage, build the Athena Shield to counter them, and to counter continuous magic damage, take Radiant Armor. Antique Cuirass will be a good item if the enemy has more physical damage dealers, or you can go for malefic roar, building more penetration. For the last item, you can build Immortality to have a second chance of surviving.

Mobile Legends Freya Gameplay Tips

Freya can go for a head-on attack right from the start of the game, without killing any minions or monsters. She is very strong at the beginning of the game and can take any hero class, even a two-on-one fight. But it is also important that a proper flow of engagement is followed, in the case of Freya, as she can be used in fights throughout the duration of the match. Our Freya guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, middle, and late game in Mobile Legends.

Early Game

Freya is relatively strong in laning because of its high damage and low cool-down. It’s important for her to farm as much as possible during this stage to level up and acquire items that can boost her damaged output. During the early game, clear two waves of creeps in the EXP lane and get the gold buff. After clearing, go to the enemy’s jungle camp to steal the Red Buff and immediately help your core to get the Turtle. By the time you reach level 4, go back to the EXP lane and clear the minion wave. The strategy with Freya is to be aggressive, but she may need little support from the middle-lane heroes.

With playing aggressively and attacking, Freya should also farm the jungle monster and the minion wave alone in the exp lane. If possible, rotate between the Top and Mid lanes and don’t keep any idle monsters or minions.

Mid Game

In the midgame, Freya is used to support the Damage dealers to get kills and also to initiate the charge. You can also use Freya to steal the turret as the second skill will increase the essential attack speed. So, making use of this skill to steal the turret is very effective.

During the mid-game, Freya is still good with taking damage and camping out single opponents and killing them. In this way, she can really slow the enemy damage dealers from levelling up.

In this stage, she can very effectively kill all the opponents in a team fight, if she joins a bit late, just after the first wave of skill is used by the opponents. This is where most of the Freya users get ‘Maniac’ and ‘Savage’.

Late Game

Skill 1 + Skill 2 + ULT+ Skill 2++ Basic Attack +Skill 2+ Skill 1+ Basic Attack

The late game of Freya is to complete the objective of winning the match by stealing chances. Almost all enemy heroes are levelled up in the late game and can deal effective damage. Freya cannot initiate the charge now. It has to be done by the tank in the team. Freya would target and get the opponent damage dealers when they are busy on our tank. Due to the tanky feature, she can chase the MM or Assassin of the opponent when the rest of the team is busy in a team fight.

Also, don’t drag the game much when using Freya, especially when your damage dealers aren’t doing well. Try to finish the game as soon as possible when using Freya.

Final Thoughts

Freya is one of the best fighter heroes to play with. She is strong right from the start of the match and can gank opponents right away. She has the capability of winning matches alone, despite not being a typical damage dealer. Being one of the exclusive characters in the game, she has one of the best stats a character can have. Freya is good throughout the game. She can clear lanes, steal monsters, kill lord and go for kills. She can play almost all the roles in a team. Freya is a solid pick in the current meta and playing her properly players can rank up easily with her Mobile Legends.  You can also refer to our latest tier list to know more about the revamped meta heroes in this current season.
