Mobile Legends Leomord Guide: Best Build, Emblem and Gameplay Tips

Ahh... Despair is punishment for the undead

Leomord was released back in 2018, as a fighter. His specialty is in Chase and Burst. He is very good at teamfights. A good Leomord player is rarely seen in ranked matches nowadays. Although, he can carry the game if well-farmed, Leomord can be a nightmare for your team when facing a good Leomord player in an enemy team. This hero is pretty weak in the early game and mostly dependent on one or two core items. In this Mobile Legends guide, we will take a look at the best emblem, spell, build, including tips and tricks to dominate every game with Leomord.

We have previously discussed how to master playing with other Mobile Legends heroes like MiyaLing, WanwanPharsaCarmillaSilvanna, HayabusaAtlasLuo YiYu Zhong, Aurora, Khaleed, Freya, Khufra, X.Borg, Lesley, Tigreal, Hylos, Valir, Cecilion, Lylia, Uranus, Barats, Odette, Angela, Vale, Rafaela, Hanzo, Esmeralda, Brody, Lapu-Lapu, Nana, Benedetta, Hilda, Mathilda, Selena, Miya, Jawhead, Chou, Paquito, Thamuz, Lunox, Yi Sun-Shin, Yve, Gatotkaca, Karrie, Ruby, Beatrix, Gloo, Argus, Baxia, Granger, Phoveus, Hanabi, Alpha, Harley, Karina, Eudora, Natan, Dyrroth, Balmond, Aulus, Guinevere, Sun, Floryn, Aamon, Valentina, Kagura, and Saber. So make sure to check these hero guides as well. For now, let’s focus on Leomord.

Skill Analysis (Human Form)

Leomord possesses two forms. One is the Human form and the other one is the Ultimate Horse Riding form where he gets a new set of skills, this is what makes him powerful. In this Mobile Legends guide, we will also talk about the skills to use in certain scenarios as well as skill combos to be able to play Leomord to his utmost potential.

Passive – The Oath Keeper (Buff)

passive human leomord

If the target’s HP is lower than 30%, Leomord deals critical damage. The Passive effects make it easy for Leomord to finish off low-HP units. Making good use of 2 other skills in the mounted state, and Leomord could cut into fights and reduce enemies’ HP to below 30% and slay them with basic attacks.

Skill 1 – Momentum (AoE, Slowed, Charging)

CD – 7.0/6.5/6.0/5.5/5.0/4.5

skill 1 leomord

Leomord immediately gains a shield that absorbs 150(+150% Total Physical ATK) damage and can charge his attack. He then deals 360(+140% Total Physical ATK) ( Physical Damage) and slows enemy units by 40% within the area for 1s. The longer Leomord charges this skill, the more damage it does.

Any actions that interrupt Leomord’s charge automatically trigger the attack. The main DPS skill for the human state Leomord takes a long time to charge but could be released early to ensure a high hit rate. The shield gained by releasing the skill is surprisingly useful during a tight match or when Leomord is low in health.

Skill 2 – Decimation Assault (Blink, Slowed)

CD – 14/13/12/11/10/9

skill 2 human leomord

Leomord quickly charges towards a designated direction, dealing 300(+50% Total Physical ATK) (Physical Damage) to enemies near his path and destination and slowing them by 30% for 1s.

Human state skill 2 and Mounted state skill 2 are both teleport skills but they don’t share CD. Take advantage of this and Leomord could teleport twice when summoning Barbiel with the ultimate, making it possible to cut into fights quicker.

Ultimate – Phantom Steed (Summon, Morph)

CD – 55/45/35

ultimate human leomord

Leomord summons (Barbiel) to rush into the battlefield and knockback all enemies in its way, dealing 350( +100% Total Physical ATK) (Physical Damage) to enemies on the path. If (Barbiel) comes in contact with Leomord, they will enter a mounted state. On the Mounted State, Leomord gains a brand-new set of skills. He can cast his Basic Attack in a circular area and even while moving. Additionally, he gains an extra 60 Movement Speed and 40 Physical & Magic Defense.

This is the strongest skill of Leomord. Mounting on Barbiel makes him incredibly strong. Barbiel could even knock back enemies when running. But make sure Leomord comes in contact with Barbiel, otherwise, the bonus will not be triggered.

Skill Analysis (Mounted State)

Skill 1 – Phantom Stomp

CD – 5.0/4.8/4.5/4.3/4.0/3.8

mounted skill 1 leomord

Barbiel leaps forward, dealing 300/360/420/480/540/600 (+120% Total Physical Attack) points of Physical Damage to enemies in the area where he lands and slowing them by 60% for 1 second.

Skill 2 – Phantom Charge (CC, Blink)

mounted skill 2 leomord

CD – 7.5/7.0/6.5/6.0/5.5/5.0

Barbiel charges forward in a designated location, knocking back and dealing 300/320/340/360/380/400 (+50% Total Physical Attack) points of Physical Damage to all enemies of the path.

Skill-up method for Leomord

At an early level, Leomord’s main damage source is this first skill so level up the first and level up the Ultimate whenever available, level up the second skill at last.

Battle Spells

Leomord is a skill caster hero, not basic attack dependent. So it is very important to use your skill without getting interpreted. The spell purify helps a lot in this case, it’s also our favorite spell for Leo. Our second choice is everyone’s favorite flicker but you can use sprint too, to chase low HP enemies.

Mobile Legends Leomord Gameplay Tips

Most of the time you are going to play Leomord as side laner or offlaner. However, a player must need a good understanding of the map to bring the best out of any hero. According to his gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Our Mobile Legends Leomord guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late game.

Early Game

Don’t play too aggressively before reaching level two. Try to poke the enemy with your first skill from a distance while clearing waves. One very obvious thing yet overlooked by many players is the tendency of last-hitting minions. It will give you a lot more exp and gold if your opponent laner fails to last hit the minions.

So, always try to last hit minions. If u can land your first skillfully charged, it will hurt your opponent laner for sure, and try to save your second skill, don’t waste your dash at this point and it has a very long CD, only dash skill unless you are using flicker, wasting your second skill can cause early death. Try not to use your ultimate before the turtle spawns. You should try to help your team while contesting the turtle with your powerful ultimate.

Mid Game

At this point, you should get at least one or two core items for example bloodlust axe and endless battle. With these items combined, you can join team fights and deal a good amount of damage to the squishy enemy units. If your team is doing well without your help, you should push your lane, you can take down at least two towers easily, and pressuring the enemy lane will give you a huge advantage. But if your team is not doing well, you should join a teamfight and help your jungler.

Late Game

Leomord is quite good in the late game. Assuming you have almost full build including a blade of despair including one defense item, you can burst down any marksman or mage. Look around the minimap for a ganking opportunity.

Leomord is weak against heroes with high attack speed aside from burst damage. And he is very good at killing enemy squishy damage dealers, if you never tried Angela + Leomord combo, please give it a try, you be surprised to see how good the combo is. Keep practicing Leomord keeping these things in mind, eventually, you will be a better player for sure and have the ability to carry the match by yourself.

Skill Combos for Leomord

First things first do not miss your horse! In order to maximize hero damage, you need to follow this combo. Camera shift is recommended to use his ultimate properly. You can turn it on from the game settings. You have to start off calling your horse aiming your enemy’s path, doing this enemy will get knocked up. While the horse comes to you, you can use the first and second skills to deal more damage.

skill combo 1 leomord

In the mounted state, you will have a new set of skills. The first and second skill will be rest. Following this order will help you to deal more damage with him and always try to aim your first and second skill which is very important for any skill caster hero, auto-aiming or tapping will mess up your combo.

Ultimate + (Skill 2 + Skill 1) + (Skill 2 + Skill 1) + Basic attack + (Skill 2 + Skill 1)

When other skills are on CD, use this combo (1). Ultimate to imitate followed by first skill and second skill add basic attack in between them.

skill combo 2 leomord

Use this combo (2) when your all skills are available. This combo can burst down any squishy hero if executed properly. Use your ultimate first and use second skill instantly then first skill while the before the ultimate form. Now you can follow up just like the first combo explained earlier.

Positioning of Leomord

It’s better not to initiate a team fight by yourself when you are playing Leomord. He is a finisher. So let your teammate start a fight then wait for a few seconds till enemies use some cc skills, now you can dive into team fight calling your horse, using your combo properly you can finish them off, especially his passive helps a lot and always go for the squishy backline heroes first. Many players don’t know that when you are near a wall, the First skill works faster. So, try to use your first skill near a wall or a broken tower this will make you a deadly Leomord player.

Final Thoughts

As discussed earlier you can play Leomord both as a side laner or offlaner. An excellent pick for rank games, Leomord is definitely a good pick for the current meta.
