Mobile Legends Julian Guide: Best Emblem, Build and Gameplay Tips

The Awakening: Truth!

Hero 116, Julian is the last member of the Forsaken Light Order Heroes in Mobile Legends. This hero just like other Forsaken Light heroes is very unique as Julian is a hero without an ultimate ability. Instead of an ultimate ability, his passive provides him to use enhanced skills and even an enhanced Basic Attack. This and many more attributes and unique characteristics make him a very strong hero to contend with. We have previously made a detailed hero analysis of Julian as he made his appearance on the MLBB advanced server. In this Mobile Legends guide, we will take a look at the best emblem, spells, and builds, including tips and tricks to dominate every game with Julian.

Julian gets 25% extra Magic Lifesteal for 5s each time he hits an enemy hero with his skill (up to 3 stacks). Julian can also upgrade each of his skills to Lvl. 5

Skill-up method for Julian

First Unlock Julian’s First Skill (Scythe) as it is his main damage source. It is recommended to unlock Julian’s Third Skill upon reaching level 2, so also unlock his Second skill on attaining level 3. Due to his skill uniqueness, each of his skills can be upgraded 5 times so prioritize his first and second skill while also upgrading his third skill accordingly.

Emblem Setup

The most ideal emblem to use for Julian is the Custom Mage Emblem as this emblem build provides for Magic damage, extra mobility as well as Magic Penetration when facing enemies on the battlefield. In the first tier, unlock Agility for extra Mobility, this would make it easier to rotate lanes and farm easier.

In the second tier, chose Observation as it grants extra Magic Penetration that does help to chip down HP of low magic defense heroes during the early game phase. Lastly, in the third tier Choose Magic Worship for the magic burn it grants as this extra damage and other effects would help in killing down enemy targets or forcing them to recall.

Battle Spells

  • Execute: For extra damage, especially when faced with high HP or multiple enemies, a battle spell-like Execute can be really helpful.
  • Flicker: It is very useful since it helps in easily catching up with enemies or fleeing super dangerous enemy ganks.
  • Retribution: If your team lacks a jungler you can as well opt for this spell to help take the jungle lane.

Best Builds for Julian in Mobile Legends

Take Arcane boots as your boots as they grant extra magic penetration whilst in the early game. Next build Clock of Destiny as it provides extra magic power, HP, and even HP Regen making it a very vital magic item while leveling up. Calamity Reaper helps to further enhance Julian’s Basic Attack hits making it much more painful for enemy targets.

Another important item to use for Julian is the Genius Wand as it grants extra Magic Pen as well as a unique passive which reduces enemies’ magic defense as magic damage is dealt with them, making it a worthy tool against tanky heroes or other fighters with high magic defense. Next up, we build Oracle as it raises HP Regen gotten from the enhanced Basic Attacks gotten from his passive, this will help in situations where enemies build anti-regen items as a counter. Lastly, get Immortality for a second chance to get back into the fight and defeat enemies right on the battlefield.

Mobile Legends Julian Gameplay Tips

As discussed before, Julian does not possess any Ultimate ability but his passive provides him to use enhanced skills and even an enhanced Basic Attack. However, a player must need a good understanding of the map to bring the best out of any hero. According to his gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Our Mobile Legends Julian guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late game.

Early Game

Julian is quite strong during this Laning phase as his passive grants enough magic Lifesteal from his Enhanced Basic Attacks, which is useful for more durability and sustenance. During the Laning phase, it’s advisable to go to the Exp lane and unlock Skill 1, using the skill to deal damage to enemy units from afar.

After clearing minion waves and attaining Lvl. 2, unlock Julian’s third skill in order to immobilize enemy targets before hitting them with one’s first skill. Maximizing the skill combo would surely help to succeed during the early gameplay of Julian. Lastly, while playing during this game phase, one must try not to play too aggressively from the start so as to prevent unnecessary deaths or recall. You can additionally perform the following skill combos to gain an upper hand on the battlefield:

Skill 1 + Skill 3 + Enhanced Basic Attacks

Mid Game

After attaining Lvl. 3, Julian gets access to an enhanced skill upon using two of his other skills, making the third remaining skill become enhanced. This perk makes him much stronger and easy to dominate during this game phase.

Owing to his amazing passive, laning with Julian is quite easy as he has so many skill combos to use making it quite hard for enemies to predict his next move. You can form the following skill moves in the below certain situations:

  • Deal High Damage during 1v1’s: Skill 2 + Skill 1 + Enhanced Skill 3 + Enhanced Basic Attacks
  • Extra CC during teamfights: Skill 2 + Skill 1 + Enhanced Skill 3 + Enhanced Basic Attacks
  • Turret dives or Evading Enemy tanks: Skill 1 + Skill 3 + Enhanced Skill 2 + Enhanced Basic Attacks

Late Game

During the late game phases, one must be very conscious of one’s skill combo as they would really help to survive depending on the situation. While playing during this game phase, one must avoid solo laning so as not to be ganked by enemy hard carry as he is quite squishy against one-shot damage dealers.

In spite of this, Julian is a powerful magic damage fighter hero that can be a real problem for squishy targets once he had completed most of his builds. Hence, Julian’s gameplay revolves around farming, and strategic combos, making him a very strong hero to contend with during the late game.
