Novaria is a long-range mage who recently joined the original server on May 16th and is the 120th hero of Mobile Legends Bang Bang. This hero’s main plus point is her buffed attack and AoE damage; when these two are combined with her long rage skill casting abilities, she can be used as a deadly sniper mage on the battlefield. Skill Analysis
Novaria has three active skills and a passive skill including one special ultimate skill like most heroes in the game. In this Mobile Legends guide, we will also talk about the skills to use in certain scenarios as well as skill combos to be able to play Novaria to her maximum potential.
Passive – Star Trail (Buff)
Basically, this passive skill will enhance Novaria Skill 2’s second phase. After being hit by Novaria’s skill, enemies will be marked (showing an orb sign on top of the enemy), and if they are hit by the Astral sphere (Skill 2, Phase 2), then the marked enemy will receive Magic damage equal to 260 (+50% Total Magic Power) plus 4% of the enemy’s Max HP, which can be scaled with Novaria’s skill level.
Skill 1 – Astral Blast (Slow, Area of Effect)
CD – 8/7.6/7.2/6.8/6.4/6
Mana – 60/70/80/90/100/110
This is the first skill for Novaria. The skill is as simple as its name. Upon casting this skill, it will summon meteors in a designated place while dealing spontaneous 75 (+25% Total Magic Power)/90/105/120/135/150 magic damage, and after 2 seconds, the sphere will explode.
While exploding, this causes 260 (+50% Total Magic Power)/290/320/350/380/410 amount of magic damage to the enemies and plus 4%/4.4%/4.8%/5.2%/5.6%/6% of the enemy’s Max HP. In this phase, the astral sphere’s slow effect will be increased by 2.5 times its original.
Skill 2 – Astral Recall (Burst, Buff)
CD – 8 seconds
Mana – 120/150/180/210/240/270
This is a very unique skill for Novaria, especially because this skill makes her a sniper, as we discussed earlier. This skill has two phases: first, it summons a sphere to her position (feels like Aamon’s skill 2), and in phase two, you can release it again in a designated direction to strike down the enemies, while at the same time, Nova can pass through walls.
The first phase means that at the time of summoning, she will be buffed with 20% movement speed, and she can launch it again in the designated direction within 5 seconds. The second phase means when she launches the sphere while dealing 260 (+50% Total Magic Power)/290/320/350/380/410 amount of magic damage to enemies plus 4%/4.4%/4.8%/5.2%/5.6%/6% of the enemy’s Max HP. It simply means that the longer it goes, the more damage it will deal to enemies.
Ultimate Skill 3 – Astral Echo (Buff)
CD – 45/40/35
Mana – 150/75/0
We can see a major nerf in the ultimate skill. When it was first released on the advanced server, it had some unique characteristics, but now the only similarity is that this skill has a long-range effect as well. Basically, Nova shoots a beam-type thing known as Astral Echo in the designated direction, and this will lock the enemy and reveal nearby enemies’ positions while slowing them down by 50%. The special thing is that it increases the hitbox of the target by 2.5 times. But this effect lasts only 8 seconds.
Skill-up method for Novaria
Unlock skill 1 first and upgrade it to the max level. Upgrade skill 2 accordingly. Ultimate whenever available.
Best Emblem set and Spells for Novaria in Mobile Legends
Emblem Setup
For Novaria, you can use a Custom Mage Emblem set as follows, and it will work very well:
- Mastery (+3) / Agility (+3)
- Observation (+3)
- Impure Rage (+1) / Mystery Shop (+1)
In this set, Mastery will help you reduce your skill cooldown or else you can use agility for a better movement speed, and observation will help you increase your magical penetration. In the last set, the Impure Rage will boost your damage whenever you cast a skill. Or else you can select a mystery shop to buy items more quickly.
Alternatively, you can use the Custom Mage Emblem on the above set as well. Focus on Inspire to gain 5% extra CDR or else you can choose Rapture too and then on Bargain Hunter to buy items quickly. Lastly, use Lethal Ignition to deal extra damage to enemies.
Battle Spells
One of the best spells to be used on Novaria is Flameshot, or else you can use Flicker too, according to the enemy’s pick.
Best Builds for Novaria in Mobile Legends
One can try many builds on Novaria. All one needs to do is to just follow the enemy’s pick and then decide the role on the battlefield. Basically, there are two types of builds: Burst damage and DPS spam for Novaria in MLBB. We have set out the following template in our guide to try out with Novaria on the Mobile Legends battlefield.
Burst Build
- Arcane Boots: For early game magical penetration. You can also use Demon shoes too to avoid Mana-related complications.
- Clock of Destiny: Clock of Destiny not only will make Lightning Truncheon’s passive stronger, but it will also give Novaria a good amount of HP to help her sustain against enemy burst damage dealers.
- Lightning Truncheon: As a long-range skill-based hero, Novaria’s lightning truncheon can help her deal damage to enemies more easily.
- Holy Crystal: As it increases magic power it helps Novaria in the late game to deal more magic damage to enemies.
- Divine Glaive: Novaria inherits a decent amount of magic power from all of her items, getting Divine Glaive can break the enemy’s magic defense by a lot and make Novaria’s magic damage a lot more effective. It should be a must-pick if the enemy has a tanky lineup.
- Blood Wings: A great amount of magic power alongside the given HP from the blood wings will make Novaria a lot more compatible in late-game situations.
DPS Build

- Glowing Wand: This item’s unique passive scorch will burn enemies for the next 3 seconds while increasing their magic damage taken by 2-4 (capped at 6 times).
- Divine Glaive: Novaria inherits a decent amount of magic power from all of her items, getting Divine Glaive can break an enemy’s magic defense by a lot and make Novaria’s magic damage a lot more effective. It should be a must-pick if the enemy has a tanky lineup.
Mobile Legends Novaria Gameplay Tips
As discussed earlier, Novaria’s main advantage is her buffed attack and AoE damage; when these two are combined with her long rage skill casting abilities, she can be used as a deadly sniper mage on the battlefield. However, a player must need a good understanding of the map to bring the best out of any hero. According to her gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Early Game
Start by buying a boot and going to the mid-lane to clear the first wave of minions. Keep an eye on the map and try to give vision to your allies by casting skill 1. It will help them win the contest to get Lithowonder in that early phase.
By now, Novaria should be level 2 and use that second skill’s damage as an advantage in early ganks. After completing the boots, make sure to buy the Lightning Truncheon as the first core item. Do not expect to deal a huge amount of damage and burst down squishy enemies in one combo in this early phase. But make sure to poke them with skill one, and if they are very low on HP, snipe them with skill two to get easy money.
Mid Game
To make Lightning Truncheon’s passive deal more damage, consider the Clock of Destiny as her second core item. After getting these two core items, Novaria should be able to deal a decent amount of damage to the enemy backline and even kill squishy backlines that are not at full HP.
So you should always target the backline in a gank. Use skill 2’s first phase to travel between the terrain and the second phase to one-shot enemy damage dealers. Players can additionally use this combo, to gain an upper hand on the battlefield:
Skill 1 + Skill 2: 1st Phase + 2nd Phase
Late Game
If you manage to get some kills by now or at least a good number of assists, then Novaria should be able to buy a third core item, i.e., Holy Crystal. After getting these three core items, Novaria can get a bit aggressive and can hunt down an off-positioned marksman or mage. Though not a core item, in the current meta, the Blood Wing is a very popular pick for Novaria; be sure to buy it.
First of all, stay behind the tank or a sustainable hero because you are not the initiator. Spam your Skill 2, which is often used on Squishy heroes. Make sure to use your skill 3 to provide vision during the turtle or lord contest and save Skill 2 to escape from Ling Natalia-type heroes. Players can do the following combo on the MLBB battlefield to gain an advantage:

Final Thoughts
Novaria may be weak in the early stages, but she can be used to maintain decent gold and turret lead. So, the best way to use her is to shoot your ultimate first to mark the particular enemy and detect nearby enemies, then use her second skill to deal extra damage because once hit by Novaria’s skill 3, the enemy will be marked. This is a very interesting hero who mainly relies on her skills.
The auto-lock technique will give you a hard time, so try to mark enemies manually. She has special features to give her vision in team fights and Turtle and Lord takedowns, so use them wisely to outnumber the enemies in ganks.
