Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Kalea Build Guide: Best Build, Emblem and Gameplay Tips

Master the Surging Wave in no time!

The new Breaking Waves Patch Update is almost here and it will be bringing with it a new Ranked season and a new hero, Kalea. Kalea excels at initiating fights, disrupting enemy lineup, and sustaining her team with her Water Zones and enhanced basic attacks. In this guide, we will look at the best emblem, spell, and build, including tips and tricks to pave your way to victory with the new hero, Kalea in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB).

Skill Analysis

Passive: Surge of Life

After casting any skill, Kalea creates a Water Zone in her current position. If Kalea casts a skill within a Water Zone, she will absorb the Water Zone to enhance her next three Basic Attacks, She will also heal herself and her nearest ally with the lowest health.

First Skill: Wavebreaker

Kalea slams her fist into the ground dealing Physical Damage and slowing down nearby enemies.

Second Skill

This skill has two parts:

  • Tidal Strike: Kalea dashes forward and grabs the first enemy she hits, going airborne and slamming them down to deal Physical Damage. If Kalea hits an obstacle or the edge of a Water Zone during the dash, she will trigger Rolling Wave and Kalea will leap into the air.
  • Rolling Wave: The second skill can be cast again to dive at the target location, dealing with Physical Damage and knocking enemies airborne.

Third Skill: Tsunami Slam

Kalea grabs an enemy hero with her tail and jumps into the air before slamming down in the chosen direction, dealing Physical Damage to the target and nearby enemies upon impact.

Skill-up method for Kalea

While using Kalea as a roamer, unlock her Skill 2 first, but you must prioritize upgrading your Skill 1, and Ultimate whenever available. However, if you’re playing as a laner, you might choose to unlock your First skill as it will help with clearing the lanes.

  • In the Third Tier Talent, pick Concussive Blast as it deals extra area-of-effect damage after using basic attacks, adding burst potential when engaging enemies and enhancing her crowd control impact.

Battle Spells

  • While using Kalea, you should equip the Vengeance spell, as an extra form of durability, especially when faced with high burst damage from enemy heroes.

Mobile Legends Kalea Build Guide Gameplay Tips

Kalea brings a unique blend of mobility, crowd control, and healing to the battlefield. As a roamer, she excels at disrupting enemies while providing crucial sustain for her team. Coupled with her powerful ultimate ability, Kalea can easily single out an enemy hero, knocking them airborne, while setting up a team fight.

According to her gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Nonetheless, a player must have a good understanding of the map to bring the best out of any hero. This Mobile Legends (MLBB) Kalea guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late gameplay of Kalea.

Early Game

Due to his skill set and capabilities, Kalea can be played in either the Exp lane or as a Roamer. However, Roaming is highly recommended for Kalea. Therefore, in the early game, Kalea’s focus should be on roaming to provide support for allies.

Start by unlocking Kalea’s Tidal Strike (Skill 2) to initiate fights and disrupt enemies by knocking them airborne. This will help your allied laner to land more hits on the CC’ed enemy. Utilize Kalea’s Wavebreaker (Skill 1) to poke and slow enemies, making it easier for your team to secure kills.

Always position yourself within a Water Zone after casting a skill to gain enhanced basic attacks and healing, boosting your and your allies’ sustainability. Prioritize assisting your team’s main ADC to farm by constantly rotating between lanes to apply pressure and assist them. While playing Kalea, you can use this skill combo to get the best out of her in the early game:

Skill 2 + Skill 2 (again)+ Skill 1 + Basic Attack

Mid Game

During the mid-game, Kalea should actively participate in team fights and ganks, leveraging her mobility and crowd control. While ganking, you can use Kalea’s second skill to dash onto an obstacle/wall. Doing this will trigger a jump from the second part of her skill, allowing her to dive to that target dealing damage and knocking them airborne.

During team fights, this combo will greatly help in disrupting the enemy’s backline formation. Use Tsunami Slam to isolate the enemy’s main ADC and deal significant burst damage, while the Water Zone ensures sustained healing for you and nearby allies. Ensure to also build defensive and sustain items to enhance your durability during prolonged fights.

Focus on controlling the map by providing vision and initiating crucial team fights. In the mid-game, you should coordinate with allies to secure objectives, while constantly looking for squishy enemy targets to take down with your dash-and-grab combo.

Late Game

In the late game, Kalea excels at peeling for her allies and disrupting enemy formations. Stay close to your damage dealers to protect them from assassins. Use the Tidal Strike combo wisely to disrupt the enemy’s backline formation. Tsunami Slam should be reserved for high-impact targets, ideally catching the enemy’s main ADC hero.

The healing from her Water Zones becomes crucial for extended fights, keeping your team’s sustain up. Maintain good positioning to maximize her passive ability’s healing and enhanced basic attacks. Prioritize vision control around major objectives to set up ambushes and secure victory.
